We’re All Experts Here
Let’s learn from each other.
We all know way too much about something.
This is a one-off evening experiment in connecting as writers and soaking up the knowledge that’s right here in this community.
We’ll meet at 7-8:30pm EST on Zoom. After settling in and writing together, we’ll introduce our first panel of “micro-experts” — Firefly community members who want to share something they know about writing. Participants can choose which “room” to go into for a 20-minute learning session in this person’s area of expertise.
Here’s a peek at our lineup:
BREAKOUT A:
How to Infuse Your Writing with Humour
Scrivener for Writing
The Curious Case of Invisible Writer's Block
Tarot Guided Writing
BREAKOUT B:
Damn Fine Rhyme
Writing Killer Dialogue
Journaling and Why it Works for Me — and Maybe You Too!
From One Disabled Writer to Another (Open Dialogue)
You can find descriptions for each presentation here.

So many lovely people helped with this.
We created this along with a group of youth volunteers from INKspire’s Writer Fellowship Program, a nonprofit that amplifies the voices of youth in the arts. The Writer Fellowship is a free, year-long program to support and develop emerging women and nonbinary writers. Five youth in the program helped us dream up this idea and pull it together.
We’re also ever-grateful to our partners at Indigenous Youth Roots, who are making our fundraising work as smooth and lovely as can be.
