Sexy Pens
One-Day Writing Workshop
Do you want to steam up the windows with words?
In this one-day, in-person writing workshop, we’ll invite each other to flirt with words and stories and imagery that make your toes (or someone else's) curl. Think of it like a hot date between your imagination and your love of language.
Whether you already have sexy stories you’ve been wanting to put into words, or you just want to explore the art of sensual prose, Sexy Pens might be for you.
Here's how it works:
We’ll gather at St. Matthew’s Clubhouse at the home of East End Arts, a historic lawn bowling club on the edge of Riverdale Park. There will be a lot of warm ups, guided exercises and playful prompts to help you settle in and let your writing rise to a slow boil.
We’ll explore our senses, unusual sources of pleasure, and how to write about desire. We will write — and yes, share — our saucy writing in a supportive, sex-positive, queer-and-trans-affirming, disability-affirming space.
The class will be designed for explicit and chaste writing, both. We’ll encourage everyone to find their own comfort level with uncensored content, whether that involves kink and BDSM or fluttering cheek kisses. The only exception is non-consensual sexual activity — we’ll ask that no writing is shared where consent isn’t explicit.
Together we’ll embrace the boldest and most timid voices, as well as everything in between.
If you’re not sure this is for you, you’re welcome to have a call with one of the facilitators before you commit.
