Sumac Centre is a purpose-built retreat center, designed with accessibility in mind. All activities (other than an optional bonfire, which will be right outside the building) will take place in the center. The main floor, which includes a double bedroom, was designed to be barrier-free. That’s where all workshops, meals and meal prep will take place.

Don’t hesitate to reach out to us via the form below with questions, feedback, ideas, and requests.

Accessibility notes

  • Group activities and meals will all take place on the main floor of the building. There are no stairs to access this space. There are extra bedrooms and meeting spaces upstairs and downstairs, but participants won’t need to access these to have a full retreat experience.

  • There is a ramp leading up to the main entrance.

  • The ground floor bathroom has hand rails and wheelchair-accessible shower.

  • The main floor doorways are 36 inches wide.

  • There are a variety of chairs and sofas, with and without arms, for all kinds of bodies.

  • We have Heathcare Harm Reduction Policies in place. While masks aren’t mandatory at this event (shared meals make this challenging), masks are welcome, and we are happy to talk through how to make this event as safe as possible for anyone with concerns about Covid or other infectious diseases.

  • You can read more about the facilities, see detailed photos, and view floor plans.
