Writing Retreats

Immersive writing experiences, online and in person

A bowl filled with scones nestled into a tea towel rests on a table beside butter and jam.

Sometimes we need to escape the noise.

In all the chatter and responsibilities of everyday life, it can feel impossible to create dedicated time to follow our creativity, and write the things we long to write. That’s where retreats can make a big difference.

These are an opportunity to escape the routines and find a new kind of space. In each of these we’ll centre stillness and community, blending the life-giving power of silence with the energy of connecting to others, all in service of our own writing.

We now have three categories.

  1. Sleep-Away Retreats: Our classic model. We’ve been doing this for almost two decades. All weekends are at barrier-free locations in Southern Ontario.

  2. Online Retreats: During COVID-19 we brought our process online, creating Zoom versions of our weekend experiences. These retreats are more affordable and accessible.

  3. Daytime Retreats: Our latest creation, in person in Toronto. These retreats don’t include meals or accommodations.

We love these weekends, and we love to share them with new people. Welcome.
